Elixir Distillers is an independent bottler that released The Single Malts of Scotland range in 2002. This range consists of vintage single malt Scotch whiskies selected for their individual quality and character. Along with the classic single cask collection, the range includes the Director’s Special series personally selected by Sukhinder Singh, as well as two small-batch collections: the accessible Reserve Casks and the more mature Marriage of Casks.
This single malt was distilled at Glentauchers distillery in 2011 and aged for more than 10 years in a single barrel, yielding a total of 215 bottles.
Nose – A jar of fresh peach slices have been macerated in pear liqueur laced syrup, aromas of baking buttery pastry, pineapple cakes and a tray of candied fruit pieces covered in freshly setting chocolate sit alongside.
Palate – The fruit carries through – peach, pear and candied studs of pineapple. The syrupy sweetness has slight hints of aromatic cinnamon spice in the background. White chocolate shows with a few drops of water. Unctuous and delightful!
Finish – The finish is long, viscous and decadently sweet.
